Questions To Ask When Hiring A Web Design Company

Website Sales Team
If you're looking to build a new website or redesign a current site, you need to get answers to specific questions before hiring any website design agency. Below are some questions you should ask.

Will my website be powered by a content management system (CMS)?

This is an important question to ask because the answer will tell you how difficult website updates will be in the future. A high quality content management system lets you make changes to your entire website from a central location. A good CMS will allow website owners to update web pages, announcements, blogs, faqs and more with minimal HTML knowledge. This is huge. You don't want to call a web designer every time you wish to update a web page!

What website control features will I be getting?

You want a website--powered by a content management system--that will allow you to take control and get results from your website! Make sure your new (or redesigned) website site has the capability for: blogging, email marketing, automated SEO, building web forms, eCommerce, announcements, lead notifications, et cetera.

Are your websites optimized for search engines?

Having a great website is only good if you have traffic. Optimizing your website is one way to increase traffic, and there are many ways to optimize a website for search. The website design company you are interviewing should give you concrete methods they use to optimize your website for organic search.

What kind of website statistics will your company provide?

Looking at, and studying analytic data from your website is a must. Where are your visitors coming from? What are they searching for? At Bullsprig, we provide weekly website analytic reports. These reports keep you on top of your game.

Have you completed any website projects similar to mine?

It's always a good idea to ask your future website design and development company if they have any experience with what you're trying to do. They might not, but you should ask. If they haven't had any experience with your particular industry, take a look at their past work. This will give you an example of what you should expect.

What are the next steps?

This seems like an obvious question, but often times it's not. Find out exactly what happens next. You are not a web designer. You do not own a web design company. They do. Ask what's next... hopefully they give you the right answer, and you get the website your business needs!
